Clay + Sake

Local ceramic artist and potter James Olney of oak cliff pottery will be teaching us how to make “Guinomi” Sake Cups on 6/27 (Tue) starting at 6pm. The Class will be about 1.5 hours long.  

He will be supplying the materials and teaching you how to make a sake cup by hand as well as giving you the history of Japanese pottery and styles throughout Japan.

After you have completed your own favorite piece, James will bring it back to his studio and fire it in his kiln so you can use it at home.

It will take approximately 2 weeks before available for a pick up. We will contact you when they come back.

The price is a non-refundable $50/person which includes first drink on selected menu.

Genji Sake Import's Portfolio Tasting featuring the following well regarded Sake from Japan.

We will be welcoming certified "Kikisake-shi" (Sake Sommelier) from Genji as guests to introduce the Sake and answer any questions you may have.
Genji Sake is a new distributor that just started up in April in Austin to cover Texas' Sake market. Not only do they have a fantastic portfolio but their dedication and passion for Sake is the reason why we love them. Not to mention our chefs are worked up to make dishes to pair with these premium Sake!

The event will be held at the Lounge.
5 courses pairing at $90/person before tax and gratuity.

The Class will be about two hours long.   He will be supplying the materials and teaching you how to make a sake cup by hand as well as giving you the history of Japanese pottery and styles throughout Japan.  After you have completed your own favorite piece, James will bring it back to his studio and fire it in his kiln so it can be used.  After fired, we will inform you when ready for pick up at Tei Tei (approximately 2 weeks). Upon pick up, we will pour you a free Junmai Sake as your first sip off of your very own “Guinomi” sake cup and take it home for yours to keep.   SPACE IS LIMITED. Please pre-pay here to reserve your seat.  The price is a non-refundable $50/person.
